Frankenstein Valentine

This is a weird way to start the album, with a Valentine’s Day song from the point of view of an available office creep.

It’s that damned Gregorian calendar that messed me up. I felt like an album of this type needed to unfold in accordance with it. Now I’m not so sure, so I guess I’m as much a curmudgeon about my own record, as I am about the holidays it is interrogating.

Lyrics

FRANKENSTEIN VALENTINE

Would you be my Frankenstein?
Would you be my Valentine?
Would you be my Frankenstein Valentine?

Now don’t it seem like everyone’s
a lover come mid-February
and ain’t it startling to discover
your desires have become so scary
Mary, shall we
take a half an hour to analyze
that monster you’ve chained up
between your thighs

‘Cause I could be your Frankenstein
Your Frankenstein Valentine
I could be your Frankenstein Valentine
Frankenstein
Valentine

Well, like a monster from your basement
I know there’s no replacement for him
but like a toy from Instant Pleasures
I could satisfy your every whim
Baby, I got no Wolfman back
or fangs that bite
No, all I do is go bump in the night

And I could be your Frankenstein
Your Frankenstein Valentine
Would you be my Frankenstein Valentine?
Valentine-Oh Yeah
Valentino
Frankenstein
No Valentine

So would you be my Frankenstein?
My Frankenstein Valentine
Would you be my Frankenstein Valentine?

Whoa you can close your eyes, girl
Pretend that I’m someone else
I might just close my eyes
and pretend that I’m by myself
And when the cards at work
are only courtesy
Well, you might find some
crooked use for me

So would you be my Frankenstein?
My Frankenstein Valentine?
Would you be my Frankenstein Valentine?
